I came to skiing later than most — I took my first lesson at 50 and was immediately, completely hooked. That means I understand skiers at every level, from nervous first-timers to those who want nothing but black runs and proper powder.

I know the resorts that work best for families, the ones that are genuinely worth the price tag, and the chalets where the food is as good as the snow. I've done the research so you don't have to.
