About this offer

Why I’ve picked this one.

The South Luangwa Valley is one of Africa's greatest and least-visited wildlife sanctuaries. Zambia's low-volume tourism approach means you can spend entire days in the bush without seeing another vehicle — an increasingly rare experience.

Chinzombo sits directly on the Luangwa River, and the wildlife interaction here is extraordinary. Elephant herds drink at the river banks below the decks, hippos surface and submerge throughout the day and night, and the camp's Carmine bee-eater colony is a spectacle in itself.

South Luangwa is also the birthplace of the walking safari. Some of Africa's most skilled walking guides are based here, and a morning on foot in the bush — tracking lion prints, following elephant — is an experience quite unlike any game drive.
